We were under a yellow thunderstorm warning a few days ago, but I didn't see or hear any yellow thunderstorms. Plenty of wet, though.

It has been overall sunny here today-- our water was hot by about 1030, and I have created a veg lasagne purely on solar electrickery. Still quite brisk and breezy. Just for comparison, from tge record of our solar production, in June 2022 we produced 487 kilowatts if power, as opposed to 586 in June of this year. I imagine suze would have been most disappointed that year

Some rain overnight here, and I think I heard more rodents of the same variety of the probable deceased one in the roof space/under the floor. Fine morning so far.

Monday: Rain, rain, go away..... Been constant all morning and with a bit of wind too, it's coming sideways against the window. Makes trying to get out/to the shops rather unpleasant and I don't know if I'll manage it.

Just checked the weather for the next few days in Morecambe.
Looks like the old boy will have a decent day to bring his journey full circle. Not too warm, but a bit of sunshine and the wind won't blow his ashes to the Pennines.

The rain has continued all afternoon and evening here. 60 mm in the rain gauge (those on FB will see 80 mm but that's from the weekend rain too)
Strong winds have blown the neighbour's empty bins halfway down the driveway, twice.
Tomorrow is set to be a repeat of today. I am now reconsidering going to the inner city library as I also have to get a replacement bus for half the train line, and have to de-bus, get to the half-way station and could be a drowned rat by that time.
Will see what it's like by 9, 9.30am.

70F and low humidity, well in my living room. Outside it's closer to 90F and I think you could make a good go at cutting blocks out of the atmosphere.

After a month's worth of rain in a day, (rain gauge nearly full, only holds 100 mm) this morning is fine - so far. Light fluffy clouds so I will probably go to the library but have to be prepared for another rain front later today.

We had some rain yesterday evening, quite handy because our lawn was laid yesterday afternoon. This morning is cloudy hopefully the flooding close to work has cleared.

After expecting more rain today....nothing. Which was nice as I had to manage the trip into the library via a replacement bus as well.

I'll explain why I was there in more detail when I'm back home on Thursday, but the visibility on the Cat And Fiddle Pass (A537) at about 2.00 this afternoon was rather close to zero.
It was pissing down, to use the vernacular, and there were clouds above, below, and all around us.

Bring me sunshine, indeed.

Were you visiting Buxton, the site of my Better Half's birth? Among other places, yes!
The day's excursion took in Leek, Buxton, Macclesfield, and Congleton. Buxton is really rather nice, and so is its Wetherspoons. (While I don't especially like Mr Wetherspon's ideology, I do quite like his pubs.) Leek and Congleton are unremarkable little towns, but Macclesfield is pleasant enough. It was the place of TGH's late mother's birth, which was part of the reason for going there.
The Cat And Fiddle is no longer a pub, but they've kept the lavatories open for the benefit of passing traffic, and there is a stone bus shelter in which a couple of cyclists were getting some respite from the rain. We parked up there for ten minutes, to use the aforementioned facilities and to hope that the visibility would improve a bit. It did, a bit, and the sun had his hat on by the time we had descended to Macclesfield.
Today we have been to Market Drayton and Shrewsbury. The Wetherspoons there gives the appearance of being in the middle of the road.

Getting ever closer to WYEBODDA! Shrewsbury is but a short rail trip from here. I know this because I once made such a trip to collect one of my expensive cowboy guns from an auction house on the outskirts of the city. The bus from there to the rail station neglected to appear when scheduled, and I walked the whole way back, missing my intended train as a result. Fortunately, I found a military museum which filled the time until the next one...

Temperatures here in the 90s again today. We had a cracking thunderstorm last night but the heat doesn't appear to have diminished yet. I think it is supposed to over the next few days though.

I'm sure I must have seen some while we there today, but neither they nor their colour scheme really registered - and so on reading that, I just asked TGH "Who runs the buses in Shrewsbury?". "Arriva", came the reply.
Accordingly, I am sorry to say that I am entirely unsurprised by its non-appearance. Arriva buses (non-appearance of) is a regular theme in conversations with girls at school.

Well the sun has been killing us in Portland (sadly I can't think of any comedic rhyme) and it's poured with rain overnight. Theoretically it should be a little cooler today than it has been.
