After that tiny tease of sunshine yesterday, we're back into the murk. I understand this is supposed to last for most or all of next week.

My understanding from the Beeb is tgat we are getting another long-lasting High drift in, but possibly bringing some brightness and Northerly winds

I think the weather is broken round here, all we have had is "grey" for at least a week.

I know what you mean. The annoying thing is that the persistent cloud has meant our electrickery production has been minimal. If it had just been a little lighter, we would have generated loads. 1.13khw today, a mere .83 yesterday. Whereas, on Monday, 3.73

My car says today's temperature is 48 degrees F but there's a strong wind blowing and it feels really quite cold.

My computer says 7 degrees C, and I am entirely prepared to believe it...

A cool 15 C in Melbourne this morning, though warmer days overall. After having experienced the sudden stronger heat/humidity of Sydney this week, I feel a bit cold again.

Precipitation overnight, paving is decidedly moist, but other than that, more of the same...

The murk here has finally turned into actual precipitation. Not wholehearted rain, but a general overall drippiness. Not likely to clear the air.

The lack of weather continues here too, and the mention of Paddington on another thread reminds me that he would find it rather familiar, if less warm than he's used to.
Lima, Peru is very, very, dry. It receives 6 millimeters of rainfall per annum, which is ¼ inch. The typical daytime temperature is around 20 °C all year round, and it doesn't get cold at night - the typical night temperature is around 15 °C. What they do not get in Lima, though, is much sunshine. "Long 10 to 15-day stretches of dark overcast skies are not uncommon", says Wikipedia, and they get less sunshine over a year than renowned sunny cities like Glasgow and Reykjavík.
You'd need to ask a climate scientist for the full explanation, but this all seems to be a consequence of Lima being surrounded by desert to the east, ocean to the west, and being close to the Equator. Peruvian television sees no reason to carry weather forecasts, and Lima must have the most boring weather on Earth.

Here too. The forecast predicts a bit of brightness over the next few days, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Definite patches of blue earlier, but they got subsumed back into the overarching grey that has been a feature for some time.....

Felt warmer here especially during the middle part of the day, it got to about 21 I think. Cooling down at nights which is ok, tomorrow set to be much the same.

Very bright, but a little chilly. It was pleasant enough on the way to the river and on the towpath but the north wind hit me after I passed Penton Hook Lock.

Same here! Blue sky, sunshine, and a lovely autumn crispness. Almost forgotten what that was like.

Maybe it's the time of year, maybe it's the time of man. I don't know who I am, but life's for learning.

Windy and blowing all the leaves around. Woodsman raked yesterday - going to have more to rake today I'm guessing.
Edited - originally posted DH, which is Mumsnet-speak for 'darling husband'. Must remember which board I'm on...
