I saw the option, and didn’t really understand it. Then the hand was forced somewhat before I had a chance to investigate fully. I’ve got a test area set up, so I can have a play. I was going to look at a different skin first of all to move away from the generic proboard look. But that is really just to pretty things up. How desperate are you efros just so I can prioritise it?

Not a biggie for me, by habit I use off-site hosts, just a concern that all the forum storage could be eaten up quickly due to users not having the info.

Can anybody recommend a (preferably UK based) 3D printing service?
I've found several sites that look promising, but I'd be interested in any personal recommendations.

Sky engineer arrived and delivered the Sky Q box BUT feeding it through the 5 channel HDMI splitter I bought is not getting me to the point of hearing the audio from the Sky feed. This is largely because the cheap monitor I bought has no built in speakers and no headphone socket plus my (brand new) TV arrived broken and I've not as yet replaced it. Do I need to get another splitter (a 2 way one at a choice) so I can run the Sky signal into the single HDMI port on my PC AND run the signal out of the PC to the monitor so that I can use headphones from the PC or does it not work that way and the solution is either i) get off my arse and replace my TV or ii) get another monitor with built in speakers.
Any advice or information would be appreciated.

It's been a while, but your HDMI port on your PC would be a video out port, not a video in. I would suggest that Sky Q isn't your best option, but a sky stream subscription might suit better

One thought is to look through the settings and confirm that the Dolby Audio is NOT selected - this switches the audio to the optical port and disables the HDMI audio. As Barbados says, your PC HDMI port will be an output, not an input.
I'm not clear what you're trying to achieve with the splitter - more details would help!

...or does it not work that way...
Any advice or information would be appreciated.
Clearly it doesn't work that way.
I need to replace my TV anyway but the engineer did mention something about Dolby without being specific and I rather foolishly dismissed it thinking 'that's ages old tech - surely there won't be any unresolved compatability problems'.
That said I can't even find any mention of a Dolby on/off option on the Realtek settings - or anywhere else for that matter. What I did find is that the internal graphic equaliser options had somehow got reset to 'flat' so I've just had a minute or three's fun getting the curve right and am now enjoying Get the Funk Out with the playback at the right setting (Still Got the Blues live now and when that kicks off... well, shivers down the spine!)
@ Bondee: Well stap me vittals that's interesting - best advice in the pub last night was that the channel would be indivisible; I may have to nudge my pal in the direction of that!

The SkyQ settings, not the other devices. On the SkyQ box from the home screen go to Settings > Audio & Visual > Digital audio output HDMI and make sure it's set to "normal". PDR

OK, thanks - just checked that and the relevant box was already set to 'Normal' not Dolby. There was one for Optical connection which was set to Dolby - it shouldn't make any difference but I switched it to 'Normal' anyway.
No change. Using that 'magic box' Bondee mentioned between the HDMI splitter and the monitor and plugging my headphones into the jack on that should do the trick (I'll need another HDMI cable)... or I could get the new TV I need.

Have a browse on Amazon, ebay, etc. You might find a different/better model that's supplied with an HDMI cable.
I bought a pretty good 5 way splitter with a built in audio extractor for less than £20 when I built my retro gaming PC. Ultimately, I had to return it because the PC's video output (a DisplayPort with an HDMI converter cable) wasn't compatible with it.
