Well my contribution is for all of you who are closet (or not) pyromaniacs, the Royal Society of Chemistry Lecture entitled Fire and Flame from 11 years ago, don't worry it is up to date chemical reactions don't go out of fashion. This is a yearly lecture somewhat like the Royal Society Lectures just by a more specialized learned body, this one is about burning stuff and blowing shit up... the reason most chemists are chemists. youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLnAFJxOjzZvK056qKGTumPUkiCJb0W6B&si=aHgk8_8ot2STogSZIt is unfortunately a playlist of short snippets but still highly watchable.

My (late) first husband would totally agree with you on that, Efros, and would also mention the pretty colours.

The measurement of the intensity of the pretty colours and their location in the spectrum was pretty much the basis of my 10 years in academia.

Pyromaniacs in closets should be very careful with matches, I reckon.

This is on Facebook, but I think it's available to everyone. 1971, and the BBC reports from the town of Youlgreave! In particular, their incredibly dedicated tug-of-war team. www.facebook.com/watch?v=1141337374077000

The coach appears to urge them to 'push', when, clearly they are pulling.

Pushing on the ground, all they do is hold on to the rope, the effort is with the legs.
