Hi!
I haven't been around the old QI boards for a decade or so, but there's a lot of names I remember here.
I don't know if I'm surprised or not that the old boards have been taken down, since they threatened with that since before I joined, which must have been 2009 or something. Either way I'm glad the boards are continuing here.

I think the first attempt to close down the old forums was in 2006! It's all a long time ago now, but the QI organisation used to have a marketing guy who went to Eton and wore designer glasses, and that fellow thought that forums were sooo 2005. (He also sort of tried to offer me a job once, and I have occasionally thought that I may have had a lucky escape.)
It didn't happen then, and it didn't happen several other times - but it eventually did happen on 1 August this year. I still don't really know why since the forums cost basically nothing to run, but that's water under the bridge and here we are in our new home!
