for those who struggle to sleep at night, why?
what keeps you up at night?
curious
usually for me it's just passed life events or the thought that one day this will all be over and I'll have nothing to show for it.
I see my life like a newly bought tv
in perfect working order in the box, but when you set it up it just falls apart

At the moment, what keeps me up at night is not getting up till 10 am, doing bugger-all during the day to get tired, so not putting the light out till gone 2 am...

When I'm insomniac it's usually because I'm anxious about one or other of my offspring, usually the eldest. However he and I had a nice chat today and he seems to be hanging on to his new job, and when he gets his first pay packet at the end of the month won't need as much cash input from me. Fingers crossed he may have found a room to rent (been sleeping in the back of his van since February so that is essential).

A friend of mine has reflux, the one I went to Sydney with recently. Sharing a motel room meant that sometimes after an overnight toilet trip, he'd be up and looking out the kitchenette window (we were on the top floor)
And at the moment my body's erratic patterns of the early stages of menopause mean that I can be awake and sweating for a bit.

That too for me, but after I've been awoken from either a dream or the aforementioned menopausal heat. Then I'm shivering while on the toilet.

I don't actually have acid reflux anymore, not since I started taking Omeprazole, but it did keep me awake.
Now it's just the usual existential dread that keeps my brain on overdrive when it should be ticking over in neutral.

Every so often I have a night like that where I over-worry about something - like last week, the night before I was due at the religious centre and had been told the trespassing lass had tried to gain access to the library building - my mind went to what if she cornered me when I was in the toilet cubicle or when trying to arrive.
