Finally found The Imitation Game in a charity shop, after about 9 previous searches, so I sat and watched it tonight. I think tetsabb is the only person currently with us who shared the visit to Bletchley, which seems a lifetime ago now. Perhaps it was made up for the film, perhaps it just wasn't mentioned on the tour, or perhaps it was and I forgot, but it was nice to think that Professor Turing called Colossus "Christopher". One cannot help but wonder what he might have achieved if the world had been a bit more accepting about his lifestyle.

Yes, I get that a bit mixed up sometimes. Should have taken notes while I was there...

A while ago, I watched 'The Man from Earth' (2007). If you can get the DVD or watch or otherwise - I cannot recommend enough. It's a quiet movie, takes place in a room (for 99.9%) and a few moments just outside the frontdoor. It will make you think. It's philosophical. Lots of dialogue. But so very gripping.
I now see there's a sequel, 'The Man from Earth: Holocene'' (2017) which I haven't seen, so cannot comment whether it adds anything.
Jenny, I definitely think you'd enjoy it.

I watched a movie called Civil War on the plane on the way home yesterday. I was in that kind of mood following the election. It was set in the future when Americans start fighting each other...
Good movie though.

I watched a good movie called Civil War on the flight home. It was set in the future but post-election seemed strangely apposite.
