Thanks mate! I am pretty much following those lines anyway. Letting her decide the pace, making considered responses rather than rushing into the whole "pouring my heart out" milieu. So much I want to say, but I also want to keep this line open as long as possible...

Good luck from me too crissdee. And I agree with Cele about not moving things too quickly. You could send her some photos of the lovely Welsh countryside around you to tempt her to call in should she happen to be in your vicinity though! Or talk about the delights of the bookshops in Hay.

I sent her a couple of pictures of the cowboys to start with, but she asked where I was in Wales, so I gave the area a bit of a boost. Not sure how much of a reader she is, but it's early days just now. I'm just hoping she wants to keep this correspondence open right now, anything else can come at its own pace.
